CHA | The Landing at Park Road

McFarland was awarded a contract with CHA to build a new, 92-unit, 63,000 sf apartment building for low-income senior citizens. This project included all aspects involved with new construction – clearing, grading, underground utilities, storm drainage, curb and gutter, sub-grade prep for parking and drives, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural concrete, interior framing, drywall, painting, doors/frames and exterior landscaping. This project earned 20% MWBE and 14% HUD Section 3 participation.

CHA | Parktowne Terrace

McFarland provided CM services on this 110,000 SF, 163-unit, 6-story senior living facility. Accomplishing LEED Gold Certification, this project entailed a complete rehab to all interior finishes, a new reflective roof, extensive elevator upgrades, electrical switch, generator and power distribution. Additional work entailed construction of a single story addition to the rear of the building, and a 3-story addition to the front entrance.

AHA | Lee Walker Heights

Provide various pre-construction and construction services for the redevelopment of Lee Walker Heights – Asheville, North Carolina’s oldest public housing development. Project includes tearing down 96 old units and replacing them with 212 new, mixed-income units which will be energy efficient and public transportation friendly. Project cost is estimated to be $37M.

CHA | Edwin Towers

McFarland provided estimating and risk management support to assist in completing this high-rise, modernization project for the Charlotte Housing Authority. The 12-story, 175-unit project is located in Uptown Charlotte.

The general project entailed installation of a new wet pipe fire sprinkler system throughout this fully occupied building. Additional work to support the building modernization included: site utilities and back flow device installation, concrete, masonry walls, elevator modifications, the installation of a new fire pump-controller and supporting equipment, HVAC and electrical reconfigurations.

This project earned 30% MWBE and 20% HUD Section 3 participation.
