Tino oversees the McFarland Construction service offering, ensuring our core values of Community-Commitment-Collaboration are accounted for in all of our client, civic, and company engagements. During Tino’s 20+ year career in the construction industry, he has developed a broad set of business, project management, and planning skills resulting in transferable value to our clients and partners.

Tino holds a B.S. in Civil/Structural Design and has an MBA in Finance. Some of Tino’s continuing education activities include the Bell Leadership Institute, Leadership Charlotte, and Supplier Development Training. Tino has been involved with a number of community organizations such as the Arts and Science Council, National Black MBA Association, YMCA, Leadership Charlotte, and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.


As Executive VP & COO, Ben is responsible for overall operations, project execution, and client success. Ben has served a broad range of clients, including United Technologies, T-Mobile, JLL, NC State, UNC Charlotte, City of Charlotte, NAVFAC, NIEHS, Indiana University, Eli Lilly & Company, Unilever, Structure Tone, Charlotte Housing Authority, Johnson & Wales University, and numerous large-scale developers and institutional owners.

With over 25 years in commercial construction, Ben has strong expertise in operations, client management, P&L, organization development, and collaborative negotiation. Ben also actively promotes community engagement, subcontractor and partner relationship management, and advocacy for small business contracting.


Gene brings 20 years of experience in commercial and institutional construction, with significant experience administrating corporate real-estate projects. He ensures the McFarland Construction project team fully understands client objectives and is providing a consistent and comprehensive approach to project collaboration.

Gene earned his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. During his career, he has developed an active relationship with the National Science Foundation as a Panelist-Reviewer of Proposals for Academic research infrastructure facilities modernization programs. Gene is also a member of ABC, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, and the International Facilities Management Association. In addition to Gene’s service to organizations, he is a volunteer coach for youth basketball programs.


Doug is a highly-skilled environmental, health, and safety leader with over 30 years of experience in commercial construction. He has been certified by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals since 2006. Doug is responsible for enterprise-level safety management and maintaining our priority for safety on all McFarland Construction projects. He provides strategic leadership and technical expertise in the development, oversight, and enforcement of McFarland’s EH&S program.

Doug fosters a collaborative and proactive safety culture which includes extensive training and development, positive reinforcement, continuous improvement, and personal accountability. Doug is committed to ensuring the highest level of safety for McFarland Construction’s employees, clients, and partners.


With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Donna is a highly skilled leader who fosters operational excellence on every project. Donna will provide executive oversight and operational planning on projects ensuring superior productivity, safety, and quality with a focus on achieving clients’ objectives and attaining successful project outcomes.

Donna’s experience includes commercial, high-end retail, higher education, sports facilities, and cultural large-scale construction projects. Donna is experienced at every facet of construction including pre-construction, contract negotiation, budgeting/cost control, contract administration, financial management, risk management, field supervision, and safety. She is results-driven, a pragmatic problem-solver who embraces collaboration, and is committed to delivering profitable projects while maintaining the highest standard of quality and safety.


Nick has a diverse estimating background and comprehensive vision of construction due to his background in Civil Engineering & Architecture.  He started in the Charlotte construction market in earthwork, paving, and in-ground utilities, and quickly expanded to Class A, corporate interior office renovations. Nick’s project portfolio spans mass grading, utilities, and paving to traditional office upfits, as well as office renovations with a focus on repurposing existing conditions.

Skills that Nick brings to the team include organization, goal-oriented, and excellent time management. He embraces teamwork and collaboration and works well under pressure.


Michelle has over nine years of marketing and sales experience with expertise in direct and digital marketing, content development, graphic design, public relations, and communications. Her experience includes professional services marketing in the AEC industry along with the insurance and hospitality industries. Michelle develops and executes marketing initiatives for McFarland with a focus on brand integrity and our core values, Commitment – Collaboration – Community.

Michelle supports business development and plays a key role in the proposal process. With a strong background in proposal development, she utilizes project management skills to develop comprehensive and timely proposals with keen attention to detail and focus on understanding and achieving our client’s objectives.

Michelle is actively engaged in professional and community associations. She supports many non-profit organizations and oversees McFarland’s community engagement initiatives. Michelle is also a member of the Society for Marketing Professionals and serves on the communications committee.


Cynthia is well versed in managing project financial documentation and invoicing procedures. With extensive experience reviewing, preparing, and tracking work orders, payment applications, and lien documents, Cynthia ensures projects are tracked and invoiced accurately and in a timely manner.


Since the start of McFarland Construction, Tamara has played a significant role in shaping employee policy and the culture of the organization. She has 7 years of experience managing the talent selection, development, and retention strategies for McFarland. Through this experience, Tamara has developed a wealth of HR knowledge and an established network, both of which are actively leveraged to support the talent management and employer compliance requirements associated with McFarland’s continuous growth.

Tamara’s broad experience includes benefits, employee relations, payroll, talent acquisition, and management. The foundation for Tamara’s experience and contributions to McFarland is her unique people skills coupled with her formal education, which includes a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration earned from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
